New Boots

So we were busy this weekend

getting ready for some family photos

(that I cannot wait to share!!!)

a friend of ours offered to take

I tried to make do with what we had

to achieve the look I was going for

but new boots for the girls

were the one item we had to purchase

The girls love their new boots

and happily paraded around the house in them

(with & without clothes mind you)

Don't really know what is up with the droopy drawers

I swear we do buy her underwear that fit!

Kokomos Birthday!

This past weekend we got together

with Scott's family to celebrate

our nephews birthday party

We went to Kokomos

and it is very possibly that Lilly now

likes Kokomos better than Chucky Cheese's

and even though she has only been to

both one time, she talks about them all the time

Needless to say the girls had a blast

there was game playing, go cart riding & golfing

It was so fun to get everyone together

and it just reminds us we should do it more often :).

Look at that golf stance...she so takes after her mother in that department

This little guy was a great golfer!

This little lady did great...she just grabbed the golf balls

and put them in the hole...no club needed :).

Wine Tour Outfit

Okay so I'm probably the last person on earth to hear of Polyvore

but I can officially say I am now addicted!

I love that I can go put an entire outfit together

and actually see how it all looks together

...and then run to TJ Maxx and hopefully find it all for less ;).

 

We are doing a wine tour up north

this year with a group of friends

so I've already found a way to put it to use!

and yes I realize I have 2 belts in that picture

I just couldn't decide if I wanted to go

feminine or tomboyish...

Milk - it does a body good

So with Lilly being in preschool

and us not being allowed to pack a cold lunch

(a rule in the program...that I did not know about)

we are trying very hard to teach her

healthy eating habits

even when we are not there looking over her shoulder

We go over the lunch menu every night

and discuss what would be healthy choices

She is doing very well

and always visits the salad bar

to get her fruits & veggies

and tends to shy away from more of the processed foods

not completely mind you - I mean she is a kid

and they have chicken nuggets!

We just want to make sure her meals are balanced

The teacher has informed us

that Lilly is one of the healthiest eaters in her class

Yaaa!

One of our healthy choices

is to choose white milk over chocolate milk

except on Fridays

because we are also trying to teach her

about moderation

Well my lovely daughter has taken it one step further

Yesterday the teacher told us Lilly was explaining to

the other kids in line (who were picking out chocolate milk)

that they weren't making very healthy choices

and that they needed the white milk to

help them grow up healthy & strong

Is it horrible that this made me laugh out loud

...but also made me proud?

We start them young around here...

This weekend ended on a cold note

but the sun was shining

and it was perfect fall weather

and perfect weather for preparing a deer blind

So we took the girls

and Scott's supplies and headed out

Scott handled the deer blinds

and us girls went exploring

On the way back we let this one

have her first taste of driving

First let me say we were in a field

not on the road

and second...she is one CRAZY driver!

She would just keep turning the wheel back & forth

and laughing like crazy

She had a blast though

and of course Lilly took her turn as well

Lilly (being Lilly) took it much more serious

and kept us pretty darn straight

Both girls thought they were the coolest things :).

1st Day of School

Yesterday the big day was finally here

Lilly started preschool

She has been excited all summer

and could barely sleep the night before

We picked out a special outfit

and packed up her backpack

and we were all up bright and early the morning of

some of us were excited

some of us were nervous

Nolee was all set to stay with her big sis

and was not very happy to leave her side

I may or may not have cried...

but Nolee cried right along with me

and I may have had a flashback of sorts

driving just one child to daycare

All I could think about was the many times

I've driven Lilly to daycare

and how we would talk about her day

or practice our words, colors, numbers & ABC's

and how that will never happen again

sniff sniff

I'm so excited to have a big girl

who is amazing and completely ready for school

who is one of the most independent, stubborn

& funny kids I have ever met

but I'm sure gonna miss my little girl...

who needed her mommy to help

and couldn't do EVERYTHING on her own :).
